Last night, Howdy Stranger took the championship title in the 2011 Summer Improv League. Six teams entered the tournament, competing in 10 minute match-ups over the course of five weeks. Each individual match-up contest was decided on a four-point rating system in four categories of rating (Craft and Comedy via Judge Rating and also by Popular Vote).

We ran a workshop this weekend to help prepare Bogota High School theater students for their upcoming improv competition. It was a crazy fun time! The participants picked it up quickly and performed some brilliant scenes. At one point, they all worked together to create a giant vending machine, then one of the boys ran from the back and jumped through the “slot” as a soda can. Hilarious!

Some girl texted me last night. “Hi Frank, its Nicole. What’s Ms Fenli’s homework?”
So I wrote back. “You got the wrong number. Tell your teacher a stranger said the homework was to watch movies and chill.”
